Via Saints spokesman @GregBensel: Mr. Benson was treated by medical personnel after needing some oxygen. The altitude got to him. He's fine— New Orleans Saints (@Saints) August 5, 2014
The owner of the New Orleans Saints was hospitalized in West Virginia Tuesday. The team gave an update on Tom Benson that afternoon.
“This morning, Mr. Benson left practice after not feeling well due to symptoms related to the altitude here in West Virginia. He was transported to a local hospital in Lewisberg, WV and was given a series of tests, of which, doctors did not find any issues or complications. He was treated with oxygen and has been released."
"He was under the care of team physician John Amoss the entire time. Mr. and Mrs. Benson thank all of those that have reached out.”
This is not the first medical issue Benson's dealt with this training camp. He was treated for dehydration last week, according to FOX 8 and NOLA.com.
