The NOPD is investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred Sunday morning in the 4600 block of Clara Street.
Shortly before 8 a.m., Second District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by cutting in the area. When they arrived, they learned that a male victim had been involved in a physical altercation with another man.
The victim was found lying on the ground in the 2800 block of Upperline Street and suffering from multiple stab wounds to the chest. He was transported via EMS to the hospital where he later died.
The name of the victim will be released by the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office.
