The NOPD is investigating a fatal crash that occurred late Sunday night on the I-610 East at its intersection with I-10 East near Louisa Street.
5 vehicles were involved in a crash on the flyover bridge shortly before midnight.
Investigators say drivers of two cars had slowed to avoid a car that had stalled in the right lane when a Hummer SUV struck one of the cars and sent it into the other.
The driver of a Harley Davidson motorcycle then crashed into one of cars. Two persons, a man and a woman were on the motorcycle and the male driver was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The woman was transported to a hospital for treatment and there was no immediate word on her condition.
The name of the man who was killed will be released by the Coroner.
Toxicology results are pending for the remaining drivers in this incident.
