Louisiana Congressman and House Majority Whip Steve Scalise said to be in stable condition as he undergoes surgery following a shooting at a baseball practice Wednesday morning, according to a post on his Facebook page.
"Prior to entering surgery, the Whip was in good spirts and spoke to his wife by phone," the post says. "(Scalise) is grateful for the brave actions of U.S. Capitol Police, first responders, and colleagues."
Scalise, two Capitol Police officers and a congressional aide were hit by gunfire at a ball field in Alexandria, Virginia.
