New Orleans officials say lead levels in the city's water supply may be on the rise.

The report says road work over the next few months could lead to a temporary rise in lead levels in drinking water.  As part of the road work, crews will be removing any remaining old lead pipes which were banned in the late 1980s.

The city is offering all residents free lead testing.  You can request a kit by calling 504-865-0420.
