Doctor Enters Guilty Plea In Pill Mill Case

Gavel and scales of justice

A New Orleans doctor is likely looking at spending ten years in prison after pleading guilty Thursday to federal charges related to his operation of so-called "pill mills" on the city's east side.

NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune reports 58-year-old Frederick Floyd entered into a plea agreement where he'll spend time behind bars for money laundering and illegally dispensing millions of doses of drugs such as oxycodone and fentanyl from two New Orleans East clinics.

He's also facing a fine of more than a million dollars.
