Both a Jefferson Parish sheriff's deputy and a suspect in a drug investigation are recovering after being injured last night in Metairie.
30-year-old Joshua Mederos is accused of striking the deputy with his car on Riverside Drive, while Mederos was shot in the hand by gunfire from deputies at the scene.
He was captured a short time later near a trash bin.
