Officials with the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals are still working to determine if a man's death in Caldwell Parish was related to the salmonella-tainted jambalaya that sickened scores of people.
The food was consumed at a fundraiser last week and at least 158 people came down with gastrointestinal illnesses, 40 of them requiring hospitalization. Most had been discharged by late yesterday afternoon.
Health officials say a second bacterium was also discovered in the jambalaya.
