LSU's Devin White: SEC Defensive Player of the Week for record 4th Time

(WBRZ News 2) BATON ROUGE - LSU Linebacker Devin White made history this weekend as he was named the SEC's Defensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this season.

According to LSU Athletics, White is the first player in the history of the Southeastern Conference to receive the honor for times in the same season.

Against the Aggies, White tied the LSU single-season record with his eighth double-digit tackle game as he recorded 13 stops in the victory. White added 1.5 tackles for loss, a quarterback hurry and his first career interception as the Tigers limited the Aggies to a season-low 55 rushing yards.

White currently leads the SEC in tackles with 127, which ranks as the sixth-highest total in LSU history. Other SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors this year for White came following wins over Florida, Auburn and Arkansas.
