House Majority Whip Steve Scalise is set to have more surgery Wednesday. The Louisiana Republican was critically injured in a mass shooting in Northern Virginia last June.
In a Capitol briefing, Scalise said the new surgery has been planned and is part of his ongoing recovery.
He said he hopes to remain fully engaged in work and aims to get back to his Capitol office in the near future.
