Abbeville City Marshal Jeremiah Bolde is seeking an independent investigation into the removal and arrest of a teacher at Monday's meeting of the Vermilion Parish school board.
It was a member of his office who took middle school English teacher Deyshia Hargrave into custody after she was ordered removed while questioning the panel about pay increases.
Video of the confrontation brought national attention to the incident. Hundreds of educators gathered at a rally yesterday in support of Hargrave.
