Deputies Make Largest Heroin Bust In St. Tammany History

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office is celebrating the biggest heroin bust in the parish's history.

Deputies found $1.5 million in heroin after stopping two vehicles that were traveling east together on I-12 Saturday. Deputies found nearly eight pounds of pure heroin hidden inside one of the vehicles.

The two "nonresident aliens" are facing charges of possession and conspiracy to distribute heroin as well as traffic violations.
