The U.S. Attorney's Office in Baton Rouge says a financial advisor from Mandeville is facing significant prison time for stealing money from his clients.
It says 70-year-old Ralph Savoie entered a guilty plea in federal court on Monday.
The $1.5 million he was given to invest was spent instead on personal expenses including jewelry, credit cards and rent.
