Report: New Orleans Homeless Population Drops

Conceptual shooting "Homeless"

A new study shows there are fewer homeless people on the streets of New Orleans.

The city has seen the rate of homelessness reduce by 90% since 2007, which is something no other city has been able to do.  Part of the effort to reduce the homeless population included getting veterans off of the city's streets.

The report does address some improvements that still need to be made, given there are still nearly 2,000 homeless people on the streets of New Orleans.

The study also acknowledges a new wave of homelessness that is being connected to the lack of affordable housing.
