Governor John Bel Edwards is concerned what a growing trade war with China and other nations might have on port operations in Louisiana.

He was in New Orleans Thursday and worries increased tariffs being imposed or threatened on various products could impact the activity at the state's ports that involve upwards of a half-million jobs.

Edwards says Louisiana could suffer more than any other state in the nation due to higher tariffs.
