The St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office says a man is dead after being shot during a struggle while trying to rob Thrift Village Drugs in Luling early last night.
Officials say the armed masked suspect entered the store just before six and ordered a clerk and the pharmacist behind the counter and demanded drugs.
That's when a scuffle ensued, leading to the pharmacist pulling out his own gun and shooting the man at least once.
He exited the store and was found dead a short time later at the rear of the strip mall.
