Sunday's parades in Jefferson Parish will now roll on Monday thanks to a severe weather threat.

Parish officials announced Friday afternoon the Krewes of Athena and Pandora will hit the streets at 5:30 p.m. Monday following the new westbound Metairie route that starts at Nero and Bonnabel.

A cold front moving through Sunday could bring strong showers and storms over the afternoon and evening, leaving behind much colder conditions for the final days of the Carnival season.

Residents can text JPMARDIGRAS to 888777 to receive parade alerts.
