Judge: New Orleans Must Reveal Crime Camera Locations

A civil judge is mandating the city of New Orleans must reveal where all 400 crime cameras are located.

The ACLU filed a suit claiming the city was trying to keep their locations a secret back in February after the city refused to provide a map of the real-time surveillance systems. While the cameras may be easy to find with their flashing red and blue lights, this is the first time the city has to tell the public exactly where the cameras are at.

The director of the ACLU of Louisiana is calling it a victory for both transparency and the justice system.
