The man convicted of killing former NFL player Joe McKnight is appealing the decision.
A Jefferson Parish jury found Ronald Gasser guilty of manslaughter for gunning down McKnight at a Terrytown intersection in 2016, rejecting his self-defense argument.
The appeal is set to focus on a number of factors such as the trial court judge's decision to allow jurors to hear testimony about Gasser's arrest for an alleged road-rage incident at the same intersection nearly a decade before.
