The Algiers Point Ferry is set to resume regular service beginning this morning at 6 a.m.

After nearly three months, the ferry began limited service yesterday afternoon with the charter boat Margaret Lab.

RTA officials say the delay in service was due to the ferry's fleet of four boats, which are over a century old and needed major repairs.

Beginning today, the ferry will depart every 30 minutes from 6 a.m. until 9:45 p.m. Sunday through Thursday with service extended until 11:45 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
