The city's health department is continuing to work with city council members on preparations for the novel coronavirus.
Director of the New Orleans Health Department Jennifer Avegno said yesterday that they are developing a citywide response that is essentially a revised version of their already established outbreak plan.
Today the city is set to hold a tabletop exercise on the virus and expect to have meeting with healthcare facilities sometime next week.
In the meantime, Avegno says people who are not sick should not be buying or wearing face masks as they are needed for healthcare professionals who are dealing with people who are ill.
