Two NOPD Officers Wounded In Shooting With Suspect Still At Large

Two New Orleans Police officers are expected to recover after being wounded in a shootout last night in New Orleans East.

According to reports, both officers suffered non-life threatening injuries during the shooting, which took place just after 9 p.m. near Morrison Road and Bullard Avenue.

One suspect, who was also wounded in the leg, has been taken into custody, but a second remains at large.

Officials did not release the names of the officers but said one was shot in the kneecap and may need surgery while the second was hit in the calf area.
