Republican lawmakers are taking the fist steps to end the stay-at-home order.

The House and Governmental Affairs Committee approved a resolution denying the governor's ability to enforce restrictions on businesses and residents.

The resolution "urges and requests" local officals to have federal guidance for reopening in phases.

The measure is aimed at forcing the governor's hand to begin reopening businesses in mid-May like he originally said.
