Protests In New Orleans Marred By Violence For First Time

Officials say protesters and police clashed for the first time during protests on Wednesday night in New Orleans.

For the fourth time in five days, demonstrators took to the streets to demand action against police brutality.

A crowd estimated to be in the thousands marched onto the Crescent City Connection, and officers used tear-gas to disperse the group when it refused to comply with orders not to cross the CCC.

The NOPD released a statement saying escalation and confrontation hurts everyone.
