Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry is offering his support for Christian musician Lauren Daigle.
In a letter sent out Monday to Daigle, Landry expressed shock and dismay over New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell attempting to have the Louisiana native removed from the lineup of the New Orleans "New Year's Rockin Eve" Celebration.
Landry called the move an apparent "targeting" due to Daigle's recent expression of her faith.
The news comes just a day after Mayor Cantrell wrote a letter to Dick Clark Productions LLC. requesting that Daigle not be included in the event after violating COVID-19 restrictions.
