Officials say with over 90% of precincts reporting, Julia Letlow is projected as the winner to represent Louisiana's 5th Congressional District.

Letlow is projected to have received an estimated 65% of the vote to fill the seat left vacant by her husband's untimely death last December from COVID-19.

Luke Letlow was elected in November to fill Ralph Abraham's seat but became ill less than a month later.

Mrs. Letlow now becomes the first Republican woman elected to the House of Representatives from Louisiana.
