An online research firm is releasing data showing Louisiana as one of the grossest states in the nation.
The study released over the weekend by Zippia ranks Louisiana as tied with West Virginia for the 16th grossest state in the country, behind #15 Vermont and ahead of #18 Kansas.
Zippia says it used several metrics to achieve its rankings, including air quality, percentage of each state classified as landfill, disease spread, and cultural indicators like Google searches for taboo topics.
Virginia topped the list as grossest, with Alaska finishing as least offensive at number 50.
