Gov. Edwards's budget wish list includes a pay raise for Louisiana teachers that many consider inadequate.

The governor's budget proposal to lawmakers features a pay raise of $1500 for K-12 teachers and $750 for school support staff.

That amounts to about $75 more per paycheck for teachers, and about $37 for support staff.

One secretary at a school in East Baton Rouge says that wouldn't even cover the rising cost of gasoline to get to and from work.
