State Fire Marshal Reports Five House Fire Deaths In Louisiana In Five Days

The State Fire Marshal's Office is reporting five fatal house fires statewide over a five-day period.

The first fire was on Friday in Bossier City, and killed a 48-year-old woman.

The second was in Ferriday on Saturday, and killed a 61-year-old man.

A 65-year-old woman died in the third fire, in New Orleans on Sunday.

The fourth fire was in Kenner on Monday, and led to the death of an 81-year-old man.

The fifth was in Leesville on Tuesday, and killed a 65-year-old man.

State Fire Marshal Butch Browning urges caution with home heating fires in the winter.

None of the homes had a working smoke alarm.
