A public safety analyst and consultant for the New Orleans City Council says NOPD response times are improving.
Jeff Asher says police response time fell to an average of 114 minutes in June, the lowest it's been since October 2021. He says the average response time in April was three hours.
City Council President Helena Moreno says adding civilian employees to the NOPD frees officers to respond to calls.
