La. State Police Col. Lamar Davis Announces Upcoming Retirement

Louisiana State Police Colonel Lamar Davis plans to retire at the start of next year.

Davis sent an email sent to troopers on Saturday announcing his plan to step down effective January 8.

Davis is a Baton Rouge native who has held the position for three years.

Governor-elect Jeff Landry takes office in January and will be responsible for appointing Davis's successor to head the agency.
