New Orleans native Ron Washington is the new manager of the Los Angeles Angels.
The team hired the 71-year-old veteran manager on Wednesday.
Washington has been the third-base coach for the Atlanta Braves since 2016.
The Angels will be Washington's second MLB managing gig.
He was the manager of the Texas Rangers from 2007 to 2014, taking them to their first two World Series appearances in 2010 and 2011.
The Rangers lost to the San Francisco Giants in 2010 and to the St. Louis Cardinals the following year.
