Student Dies On Southeastern Campus During Police Presence For 'Incident'

Southeastern Louisiana University is reporting the on-campus death of a student on Wednesday.

Campus police responded around 1 p.m. to an "active incident" at the school's biology building.

The building was closed for the rest of the day and students were asked to steer clear.

Soon afterward, SLU president Dr. William Wainwright issued a statement expressing the university's deep sadness over the situation.

The student's name and cause of death haven't been disclosed.
