Study Ranks Louisiana's Addiction Rate 4th In Nation

An online study ranks Louisiana fourth nationwide in four common categories of addiction.

Universal Drugstore analyzed rates of smoking, drinking, vaping, and misuse of prescription drugs nationwide to find out each state's common type of addiction.

The international prescription referral service says more than a million Louisiana residents are addicted to excessive drinking, adding up 22 percent, second highest in the nation.

In addition, the study says more than 881,000 Louisiana residents are addicted to smoking.
