Outgoing Gov. John Bel Edwards says he and First Lady Donna Edwards are looking forward to being grandparents in Tangipahoa Parish.

On Monday, Edwards had his annual end-of-the-year news conference, in which he looked back over his eight years in office.

Edwards said his proudest accomplishments were expanding Medicaid in Louisiana, along with balancing the state's budget and turning a deficit into a surplus, all in the face of hurricanes, a drought, and the pandemic.

He also wished GOP Governor-elect Jeff Landry the best.
