New Garbage Collection Contract In Effect In Jefferson Parish

A new garbage collection service is now in effect for the unincorporated areas of Jefferson Parish and Jean Lafitte.

The ten-year contract with Waste Connections ended with the start of the new year.

The Jefferson Parish Council awarded a five-year contract to River Birch Renewable Energy LLC.

Twice-weekly pickup will continue, though bagged materials will now be collected only once a week and considered bulk waste.
