More than four-dozen Louisiana National Guard members are now in Texas as part of a border security operation.

Friday's arrival is the first of three rotations, and it happened a month after Gov. Jeff Landry pledged Louisiana's support for Operation Lone Star.

The squadron is based out of Shreveport.

So far, 13 Republican governors have pledged support for Texas's border security initiative, which includes miles of razor wire.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott is in an ongoing feud with the Biden administration over border security.
