Jim Bernazzani, Former Head Of New Orleans FBI, Dies At 68

Funeral arrangements are pending for Jim Bernazzani, the former head of the FBI's New Orleans office.

Bernazzani died Sunday night at his home in Biloxi, Mississippi. He was 68.

Bernazzani was with the FBI for 24 years, including a three-year stretch as head of the New Orleans field office from April 2005 to May 2008.

He left the Bureau in 2008 when he was told he was being transferred to Washington, D.C., after saying he was thinking of running for mayor of New Orleans.
