The employees of a Starbucks location is Sulphur are joining a union.
The staff of the location on South Cities Service Highway voted unanimously last week to join Starbucks Workers United. They'd reportedly been looking into the possibility since January.
The coffee chain has been fighting against unionization since 2022, when a New York store made the move.
A New Orleans location was the first Starbucks in Louisiana to unionize in 2022. Several other stores statewide have followed suit.
