St. Tammany Launches New Anti-Litter Effort

St. Tammany Parish President Pat Brister has announced that a new effort will be made to clean up litter.

Brister and Sheriff Randy Smith have unveiled two new 15-passenger vans that will be used to carry inmate crews to areas that have generated complaints.

One of those areas is along I-12 between Highways 190 and 59.

Smith says the new campaign will include setting up surveillance cameras in areas where illegal dumping has been reported.

Citizens can report litter and dumping violations by visiting the website keepsttammanybeautiful.org.
