Uptown Plastic Surgeon Acquitted Of Voyeurism

An Uptown plastic surgeon has been found not guilty of four counts of video voyeurism by an Orleans Parish Criminal Court jury.

41-year-old Dr. Alireza Sadeghi had been accused of transmitting images of four naked women that were recorded while the patients were unconscious prior to surgery.  Prosecutors said the images had been sent to his girlfriend and nurses on his staff.

The jurors verdicts that Sadeghi did not engage in lewd or lascivious conduct were unanimous on each of the counts.

Sadeghi, who declined comment after the trial ended, still faces trial in June on separate charges of rape and video voyeurism in a case involving an ex-wife.

His attorney, Mike Magner told reporters Wednesday evening that he is confident Sadeghi will be acquitted in that case, saying "he's just as innocent of those charges as he is of these."

The jury of six men and six women returned the verdicts after less than ninety minutes of deliberation.
