The NOPD is investigating a double shooting that left a woman dead and a man injured Monday night in the 2300 block of North Claiborne Avenue.
At around 8 p.m., Fifth District officers found a young woman dead in a residence and a man who had been shot.
The injured man was transported to the hospital by EMS. There was no immediate word on his condition.
NOLA.com reported that family members said the woman who was killed was in her 20's.
The name of the victim will be released by the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office.
