Budget Cuts May Limit French Quarter Patrols By State Police

The Louisiana State Police says it might end up having fewer officers in the French Quarter. It's also talking about putting off the implementation of its body camera program.

Police say they will make a final decision based on what happens with proposed statewide budget cuts.

The House version of the spending plan calls for reducing public safety spending by $31 million.
