Football Player Helps Team Win, Loses Later On Bourbon Street

He may have provided the game-winning play for his team Friday night, but a Holy Cross football player wound up a loser Sunday when he was arrested for punching out a man on Bourbon Street.

Police charged 18-year-old Rhett Weidenbacher with second-degree battery. He is accused of striking a man with a closed fist, the victim hitting his head on the concrete as he fell to the ground.

Fox 8 reports Weidenbacher was already in a diversion program after similar charges were brought against him in May.
