Trial Postponed For Accused Killer Of Former NFL Player

It'll be early next year before the man accused of a road-rage shooting that left former New York Jets running back Joe McKnight dead goes to trial.

A Jefferson Parish judge reset Ronald Gasser's trial for January 16th, both the prosecution and defense saying yesterday they needed more time to prepare their cases.

Gasser was still in his car when he opened fire on McKnight through the passenger-side window. He says it was self-defense, but the state says it was second-degree murder.
