Lafourche Parish sheriff seeking information in two separate casino thefts

The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Department is asking for the public to come forward with any information that might help them make an arrest  in two separate incidents where cash was stolen from a casino.

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced a reward is being offered.

On two separate occasions money was stolen from a Raceland casino on U.S. Highway 90.

The first incident occurred last week on November 24.

According to detectives, a man who was gambling in the casino for some time approached the cashier's counter and distracted the clerk.

The man then stole a wallet-style money bag from behind the counter and then left, according to the report.

The incident was captured on surveillance video. Detectives believe the man was driving a white SUV that may be a 2000-2006 Chevrolet Tahoe.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’9” tall with a beard.

A second incident occurred on Wednesday night.

An unidentified male subject entered the casino and walked into the restroom.

Detectives said he climbed through the ceiling in the restroom and climbed down over a partition wall.

He then crawled into the casino office's, stole cash, and left, according to report.

He then fled the scene in a pickup truck that might be a blue 2000 Nissan Frontier, heading east on U.S. Highway 90.

The suspect is believed to be approximately 5’8” to 5’10” tall with a short-haired beard.

Anyone who can identify either suspect, or anyone with any information on these crimes, is asked to submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers Bayou Region by phone at 1-800-743-7433 or online at www.crimestoppersbr.org.

Tips can also be submitted using the P3 Tips app on your mobile device. Tipsters could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 in cash if the information leads to an arrest.
