Well over a dozen government entities in Louisiana are taking legal action against those firms that manufacture and distribute opioids.
The New Orleans Advocate reports at least 13 sheriffs across the state have all filed suit. The Orleans Parish sheriff will do the same shortly.
Those companies being sued are accused of taking part in schemes that have led to a deadly nationwide opioid addiction crisis.
