Governor Signs Bill To Ban Abortions After 15 Weeks

Funeral Held For One Of Three Police Officers Killed In Baton Rouge

Louisiana is on the road to banning abortions after the 15th week of a pregnancy.

The current statute on the books bars the procedure after 20 weeks. But, the legislature approved the new law and Governor John Bel Edwards has signed it.

However, it won't take effect unless a federal court upholds a similar law passed earlier this year in Mississippi.
