The next person to be nominated to the U.S. Supreme Court could have ties to Louisiana.

After Justice Anthony Kennedy announced he was retiring Thursday, NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune reports there are three potential nominees who have history in the Pelican State that President Trump is expected to consider from a list of about two dozen names.

They are Amy Barrett, a New Orleans native who serves on the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago, Judge William Pryor Jr. who received his law degree from Tulane University and New Orleans 5th Circuit Court Judge Don Willett.
