Construction on Children's Hospital State Street campus is officially underway as they've broke ground on the new Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Center.

Architecture firm Fernandez + Johnson designed the new five-story, 78,000 sq. ft. facility to replace the 34-bed behavioral unit at the hospital's Calhoun Campus.

New plans will include 51 beds with nursing units and an outpatient clinic.

This is part of the hospital's massive overhaul which began nearly two years ago. The facility is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
